OCR National
Welcome to the OCR Course. Over the next 2 years you will be working towards gaining an ICT qualification – an OCR National in ICT. This is a Level 2 course which is equivalent to a GCSE. There are a number of units that you have to pass depending upon whether you are going to 1 or 2 GCSE equivalents. In each unit you can gain either a pass, merit or distinction grade which is equivalent to a C, B and A grade respectively. Each grade is allocated a number of points and your final grade is calculated from the number of points you have gained.
You have to complete Unit 1 – it is a compulsory unit. After that you can work on any of the other units but your teacher will guide you to the one(s) that may suit you and the time frame you have.
You can work through each unit at your own pace since all the tasks and worksheets you require are found on these pages. You can work both at school and at home and therefore work through the tasks independently. After each main task you will be required to submit your work for marking where feedback will be given and a chance, if needed, to improve your work. All marks gained are held on a tracking sheet which will keep track of your progress.
