Mr. J. King OBEI am pleased to introduce this website to you.  It will inform you about our purpose, structure and daily organisation.

Firstly, and most importantly, Gable Hall is committed to realising the highest standards of education for our students and I am justifiably proud of our recent achievements.

Our aim is to provide for each of our pupils the best possible education in a caring, supportive community where life is happy, secure and enjoyable, and access for all pupils to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum is free and equal.

Our pupils are encouraged to develop lively enquiring minds, to be capable of independent thought and to appreciate those areas of knowledge and understanding which will nurture wisdom, enable them to take responsibility for themselves and their actions, and prepare them for future life and employment.  Academic excellence, respect and tolerance for others, self-discipline and self-confidence form the basis of the school’s philosophy.

Our continuing successes and excellent reputation in the local community are based on a close relationship between well-qualified and dedicated staff, enthusiastic and self-reliant and well-behaved pupils and interested, supportive and co-operative parents.  This winning formula has seen Gable Hall achieve 4 consecutive Outstanding Ofsted inspection reports.  We are one of a very, very small number of schools in the country to have done so.

Gable Hall has a national and increasingly international reputation for Innovation and Leadership.  It is a High Performing Specialist School with two specialisms in Performing Arts and Applied Learning.  It is a Lead School in Gifted and Talented, a Leading Edge school, a National Teaching school and a South East Regional Centre of Excellence for Innovation and Leadership.  We are also a regional centre for delivering the NCSL Leading from The Middle course.

As a National Support School, Gable Hall supports a number of schools which are experiencing difficulty as well as schools that aspire to being outstanding and we play host to a very large number of visits including recently a high profile Chinese delegation and a visit from the Spanish Minister of Education.

Gable Hall not only trains teachers new to the profession but also continues to train and develop teachers throughout their career.  Almost with no exception teachers leave Gable Hall for promotion.

We are, however, most proud of our young people.  An increasing number of whom are winning places at top universities or competing successfully for some very high profile work positions.  They have tremendous gifts, talents and potential and my staff, supported by their parents, gain tremendous satisfaction and pleasure in seeing them achieve.

I sincerely hope you find this website useful and please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information or indeed have ideas on how we can improve it to offer a better service.
